All cars come with standard insurance included in the price. This covers accidents that aren’t your fault with a police report. However, "hit and runs" and "accidents with unknown" will not be covered by the standard insurance - even with a police report, you will have to pay between 940-5000 AED excess liability fee - depending on the car booked.
Can I get Full insurance?
You can get full insurance for an extra fee that covers everything - even if it is your fault - as long as you have the police report. The price is 160-300aed/month depending on the car booked. This can be done when making the booking right inside the app.
You cannot upgrade to full-insurance unless you meet the following conditions to add full insurance:
AGE: Min 24+ years
UAE LICENSE: 6+ months
FOR UAE LICENSE UNDER 6 MONTHS: holding license for 2+ year in home country
Are tires covered by the insurance?
Auto insurance policies don't include tire warranties, in short insurance does not cover damage from tire wear and tear.
So, for example, if you get a flat tire because you run over a sharp object your insurance company or the dealer will not pay for repairs. They cover the tire if it is damaged in the event of an accident and marked in the police report.
Exceptions when insurance will not cover an accident
- Accidents of "drunk & drive" type will not be covered by any type of insurance, not standard nor full.
- Accidents involving a person that was driving your car but is not added as a second driver to your agreement.
